CzechCham Shanghai in cooperation with Consulate General of the Czech Republic and Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai have organized a donation to help to fight the novel coronavirus epidemic. All the funds were donated by the Czech and Slovakian community in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.
More than 60 Czech and Slovak citizens have donated over 45000 Chinese Yuan, which were used for the purchase of 2000 high-quality respirators for two designated hospitals in Shanghai and Hangzhou, whose medical teams were dispatched to fight the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic in Wuhan.
1000 respirators were donated to Shanghai Chest Hospital on March 4th 2020, and the other 1000 respirators were donated to Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Zhejiang on March 6th 2020.
China has shown great determination in fighting against the current outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-NCoV). “Thanks to the effort of the Chinese medical teams and also the devotion of the Chinese people to deal with the epidemic, China is on track to contain the epidemic and get back to normal. With this donation, the Czech and Slovak community here in China would like to express gratitude and support to all that are taking part in the fight against the coronavirus”, said Mr Lukas Hlavac, Chairman of CzechCham Shanghai.
